{Series} When A Planner Plans Her Own Wedding, pt. 3

YOU GUYS.

It's official! We have a date AND a venue booked! I was getting to a point where I felt like it may not happen in 2018. With Chris being deployed, we're on a super tight schedule - we have to work with his return as well as the open availability of the venues we love. Roll in a few other variables such as budget and personal preferences, and we were looking at a 2 week window.

BUT. The stars aligned and we found our place and I'm so pumped and incredibly relieved. This is the point, for me, where everything else can float into place. Mostly. I have to say, I didn't realize how annoying managing an address list is. And depending on what services you're using and in what capacity, you have to input addresses multiple times in different formats. I've quite literally typed my entire guest list 3 times by this point. I'm going to propose a universal Excel spreadsheet utilized by all wedding websites, envelope addressing platforms, and the like. I like to work smarter, not harder.

Regarding booking a venue, I have to strongly urge you to read over your contract multiple times. Why? Because: work smarter, not harder. And you just said, reading a legal contract once seems hard enough. True. But. Don't let yourself become caught in a binding agreement that you don't actually want to be a part of, which could cost you a lot of money. Reading a contract very thoroughly will save you unwanted surprises and financial headaches down the road. Having your wedding planner review your contract is key, as she does this regularly and knows exactly what to look for and point out. I personally read my contract about 5 times and also asked Care to look it over so that I could get a second set of eyes on it. In doing so, I ended up making a few revisions to a document that, upon my initial review, I thought was good to go!

Now, I feel like you might be wondering where is the venue. But, I love to keep a good quality surprise. Stay tuned!
