{Talk to Me Tuesday} Today's TTMT Question:
Linda asks us "Is dinner expected at an evening reception? Is it okay NOT to serve a meal?"
Sterling Girls: "If you are inviting guests to an event that falls over the dinner hour, for a few hours, your guests will expect to be fed. If for any reason you are not serving a meal you should make it clear to your guests with a simple: "Cocktails and Hors d' oeuvres to follow" or "Champagne and Sweets will be served" on the invitation- this way they can make plans to chow prior or following. Be courteous of timing if you're not serving a meal, hosting an event for 5-9pm would be inconsiderate, but 3-6pm would be acceptable."
